The Family Folk Chorale celebrated the music of singers Sting and Peter Gabriel at 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 24, at Arlington Town Hall.
The chorale, which bills itself as “greater Boston’s premier intergenerational chorus,” promised a family-friendly musical experience in its annual fall concert, titled “Love is the Seventh Wave.”
“Sting and Peter Gabriel came to prominence in their respective bands the Police and Genesis in the 1970s,” a release from the chorale says, “and both went on to highly successful solo careers. Their music continues to entertain and inspire generations of music lovers. The songs of these two artists reside beautifully side-by-side in a concert program.
“From poignant solo vocalists to big choral chords, a driving rock band, and a kicking brass section, these iconic songs will be heard afresh. Artistic director Chris Eastburn has crafted a dynamic and satisfying concert program, highlighting the tenderness, fun, beauty, rock and energy in this music.”

Per the chorale’s website, the group is committed to the principle that “everyone can sing” — and the audience is often encouraged to sing along during a concert. The more than 60 members consist of multiple family members, ranging in age from singers as young as 3 up to 80 years old.
