Arlington police, after an investigation into drug-distribution activity in town, charged an Arlington resident Thursday, Oct. 8, and seized cash, drugs and a firearm after serving a search warrant on a Grove Street residence.
Chief Frederick Ryan said in a news release that, as a result of the investigation by town detectives and investigators assigned to the Southern Middlesex County Drug Task Force, Paul Santos, 32, was arrested on the following charges:
• Trafficking a Class B Substance (cocaine);
• Illegal possession of a firearm, ammunition and a high-capacity feeding device; and
• School-zone violation.
A large quantity of cash, drugs and a handgun were uncovered in the search. No one was injured in serving the search warrant. Santos is being held pending his arraignment Friday, Oct. 9, in Cambridge District court.
“Today’s arrest represents the culmination of a detailed investigation by Arlington police detectives, working hand-in-hand with our partner law enforcement agencies in Middlesex county,” Ryan said in the release. “It showcases the close working relationships enjoyed by municipal police officers in our region, and I am proud of this excellent work.”
