Gearing up for the summer season, the town has announced Reservoir Beach is scheduled to open for swimming and beach recreation Monday, June 16, and will be open through Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, weather permitting.
Reservoir Beach, known locally as “The Res,” is in Arlington Heights along Lowell Street. The beach is supervised by certified lifeguards and additional beach staff throughout the summer season. The Res underwent renovations in 2022 and features a bath house, snack bar, picnic pavilion, playground, a filtered and chlorinated swimming and water play area, sport court, lawn areas, a walking path around the Reservoir and paved parking lot with full ADA access.
The town’s Recreation Department partnered with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Division to fund floating beach wheelchairs. Those interested in requesting one of these chairs are able to do so with the beach staff.
For the 2025 season, the Res is offering digital season passess, which may be purchased online or in person at the Recreation Office (17 Irving St.). Digital memberships are per-person and nontransferable; they may be printed out or saved on a phone for easy scanning, according to the town website. Learn more here >>
Day passes are available for purchase and are priced at $10 for adult tickets and $5 for seniors and children two years and older.
