UPDATED June 20: Residents can kick off summer one day early with music from Swing Cafe as the Plug In series closes its 11th season at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, indoors at Town Hall — not outdoors on the Whittemore-Robbins lawn as previously planned.
Those who attend will have the chance to enjoy acoustic swing, jazz and rockabilly music at no charge.
Michèle Meagher, coordinator of Plug in, a Robbins Library series, wrote June 20: “We will be in Town Hall [at 730 Mass. Ave.] tonight. I spoke with the band leader today. They performed yesterday evening in similar temperatures — and folks were huddled in sweatshirts. This way [indoors] we will be more comfortable, and the floor will be smooth for dancing.”
Plug In, a cultural/educational series targeted to 50-plus adults, is made possible thanks to the John F. Barry and Margaret O’C. Barry Memorial Fund.
