Menotomy Concerts on Friday, Nov. 18, plans present Arlington residents Orlando Cela and Carmen Rodríguez-Peralta in “A Peruvian Sojourn,” a concert of music inspired by Andean indigenous melodies, rhythms and traditions.

The concert is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. in Arlington Town Hall, 730 Mass. Ave.

It is free and open to the public, with donations gratefully accepted.

The works in the program, ranging from simple folk settings to complex compositions, illustrate the colorful, haunting, and energetic combination of Indigenous and western classical traditions.

Cela, on flute, and Rodríguez-Peralta, on piano, have performed together for many years. Their Latin American heritage gives this program special significance for them, and they look forward to sharing it with everyone, a news release said.

Their new album, “A Peruvian Sojourn,” just released by Albany Records, is available for purchase on Amazon. It is also available on many streaming services.
