To the Editor: The remodel and update for the veterans memorial in Arlington center is scheduled to begin soon, I have heard that there is a discussion about the possibilities of moving the memorial for the Arlington women that served in the military to a separate location, that’s a bad idea – these female veterans deserve and earned the rite to be included at the same location and in the same format as the men that served.
The military is all about operating as a team to protect and serve the United States. The memorial should respect that unity and list all those that served both men and women at the center location. The women that served are special, they shared the same responsibilities and commitment as the men and every women volunteered to serve.
the listing of the men and women veterans that served should be accurate, up to date and in one location. I am hopeful the listing will be able to be updated and kept currant as Arlingtonians proudly continue to serve our country.
