Ahead of another sweltering summer season, the town has announced that two new public water refill stations have been installed at Parallel Playground and at the High School’s Peirce Field.
With these new additions, the town now has a total of seven “hydration stations.” The initiative to install public drinking water systems throughout town began back in 2022, alongside Arlington’s retail ban on single-use plastic water bottles under one liter.
According to Zero Waste Arlington, tap water is very low-cost and does not contribute to litter, plastic pollution, or greenhouse gas emissions in the community the way bottled water does.
The hydration stations operate seasonally from April through October.

- Arlington Reservoir
- Hurd Field
- Thorndike Field
- Robbins Farm Park
- Arlington High School Peirce Field
- Swan Place/Mass. Ave. (privately owned and operated)
- Parallel Playground
