The holiday season has ended, and the town is reminding residents of proper Christmas tree disposal procedures. Starting Monday, Jan. 12, through Friday, Jan. 16, the Department of Public Works will be collecting trees for curbside pickup on your regular trash day.
According to a recent town wide announcement, residents seeking to have their trees collected must ensure they are completely bare; trees in plastic bags, on stands, or with any decorations still on will not be collected. This collection service does not include yard waste.
Additionally, residents may choose to dispose of their trees at the one-day Christmas tree drop off, Saturday, Jan. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Reuse & Recycle Center, (33 Ryder St.). These trees must also be completely bare to be eligible for the drop off. The drop off service is only accepting trees from Arlington residents, who are required to show a valid ID. No appointment is needed.
