UPDATED, Dec. 11: The Arlington Select Board is now accepting submissions of warrant articles for the 2026 annual Town Meeting; residents may submit warrants starting Dec. 5, through Friday, Jan. 30.
Warrant articles considered for possible inclusion in Town Meeting must be signed by petition of 10 registered Arlington voters, or by ten percent of the total number of registered voters in town, whichever number is less.
According to the article submission instructions, examples of subjects for Town Meeting action under a warrant article include:
- adopting, repealing, or amending Town bylaws;
- authorizing the filing of home-rule legislation;
- accepting or revoking the acceptance of local-option legislation;
- making and amending budgetary appropriations;
- authorizing the acquisition or disposition of interests in land; and
- making resolutions.
