Richard Ockerbloom
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 11, from 4 to 6 p.m., for Richard C. Ockerbloom, an Arlington native and longtime resident of Winchester, who was an executive at The Boston Globe for many years.
Mr. Ockerbloom died March 7. He was 95.
Survivors include his son, Fox25 TV news anchor Mark Ockerbloom and daughter Gail Ockerbloom of Arlington. Read the full death notice here.
Mr. Ockerbloom was raised in Arlington, the son of teachers — his mother taught elementary school and his father taught in Medford — and was the president of his class at Arlington High School. He would go on to Northeastern University, where a cooperative education assignment landed him at The Boston Globe. He stayed at the news organization for 40 years, rising to the second-highest position at the newspaper.
