The Cyrus Dallin art museum invited kids in Arlington to learn how the town’s famed sculptor made his art. This sculpture workshop wqas heldr Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to noon.
The event, geared toward kids age 6 through 12. was a hands-on experience. Attendees were given a tour of the museum followed by a hand-building workshop where they learned about Dallin’s method for making armatures to create their own clay sculptures.
Tickets cost $20 per child and $15 for members of the museum; the fee included all materials needed for the sculpture making. Those interested are attending must register in advance here >>
Cyrus Dallin (1861-1944) was a celebrated Utah-born sculptor, educator, and Indigenous rights advocate who lived and worked in Arlington for over 40 years. The museum is located at 611 Mass. Ave.
