The Arlington Select Board met at 7:15 p.m., Monday, Sept. 9, via Zoom and in person at the Select Board Chambers, second floor of Town Hall, 730 Mass. Ave.
Agenda items include several one-day beer-and-wine licenses for local events; a common victualler license for the Vintage Tea and Cake Co., 677 Mass. Ave., the former Mamadou Bakery space; a presentation regarding the tree removal for the Stratton Safe Routes to School Project; an update on “double poles”; a Hunger Action Day proclamation and discussion of a draft letter to the MBTA about a proposed Alewife project.
Also on the agenda are requests for contractor/drainlayer licenses from Cavalieri Construction Co., Paul Buckley of Wilmington, and Darvin and Jack Masonry, Jack Rene Lopez of Lynn; the reappointment of Peter Martini to the Permanent Town Building Committee; the approval of Switch Box Art; and the acceptance of $4,300 in donations for Town Day.
Additionally, the board will hear an update on the Bikeway Block Party, which is planned for Sunday, Sept. 15, from 1 to 6 p.m., at Whittemore Park in front of the Jefferson-Cutter House. The request for one-day bear and wine licenses include the Stratton School Family Outing Fundraiser, planned for Robbins Memorial Town Hall on Sept. 14, a Town Day beer garden on Sept. 21 at David Lamson Way, and the Old Schwamb Mill’s Ocktoberfest on Oct. 5.
