Close to 200 people came to the MWRA Deer Island treatment plant May 24 to honor this year’s contest winners, a recent news release said. Students across the MWRA service area were asked to design a poster or write an essay, poem or story about different jobs at the MWRA. Winners were selected from 1,100-plus posters and 200-plus writing entries.
All winning posters and writing entries are on display at the Waterworks Museum, 2450 Beacon St. in Boston, through Sept. 27, 2024.
MWRA states that it is a Massachusetts public authority established by an act of the Legislature in 1984 to provide wholesale water and sewer services to 3.1 million people and more than 5,500 large industrial users in 61 metropolitan Boston communities.
