Arlington has almost 47,000 busy residents, you among them. And you deserve to know what’s going on in our rapidly changing town.
Concerned volunteers and paid staff here are banding together to support and grow YourArlington, the online news outlet that is Arlington’s only source of stories and information that affect you and your neighbors every day. As nearby towns such as Belmont and Winchester also are doing, we’re working to replace the collapse of traditional media with a thriving news site that you can trust and count on.
This isn’t easy work. Better informing Arlington residents requires money, organization and a dedication to the principle that people need and deserve to understand their community — whether that involves how votes went down, how growth is managed, how traffic is rerouted, how schools are evolving or where to find a popup concert on a warm summer night.
YourArlington is free to you, but it’s not free to produce. The site costs money to run and improve. Reporters and editors must be paid, and frankly we need much more funding to make this effort work. We need to raise an additional $5,000 by the end this month to meet our goals.
We volunteers and staff can’t build YourArlington alone. This is a community, and we need your help. Please make a one-time donation or become a sustaining donor by making a recurring tax-deductible contribution of $10 a month, more if you can afford it, less if you can’t. But please become part of the ongoing effort to keep Arlington in the know.
