“The new online permitting system provides greater convenience and transparency to the public,” said Jim Feeney, town manager. “The ability to apply for a permit at any time and pay for it online saves a trip to Grove Street during business hours and greatly reduces processing time for staff. Further, the online system will assist with record keeping and access to public records.”
“Allowing residents, businesses and contractors to conduct business with the town online greatly improves efficiencies in our office while providing convenience to our customers,” said Inspectional Services Director Mike Ciampa. “Instead of staff processing thousands of paper applications and collecting payments, the new permitting system will do that for us, so we can focus on conducting inspections and servicing the public.”
The new online permitting system is powered by OpenGov, an industry-leading government software company aimed to create more effective and accountable government. OpenGov serves more than 1,600 public agencies nationwide.
