UPDATED, April 18: Town Meeting members held a meeting Wednesday, April 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Senior Center, 27 Maple St., to discuss the proposed zoning articles facing the meeting beginning Monday.
An email from Barbara Thornton (16) to Pamela Hallett (21) and Steve Revilak (1) with the subject line “REMINDER: Zoning Questions Answered” says the “meeting on zoning issues is designed for Town Meeting members but all are welcome.”
Members of the group opposing the “density” articles plan to attend and circulate its petition. See it at petition.arfrr.org.
The April 16 email continues: “Many of us have questions about the implications of Article 16 and related zoning issues. The Arlington Redevelopment Board just released their report on Article 16, etc. on April 8. It includes clarifying information on affordability, density, special permit and public review opportunities, changes made to respond to citizen comments, etc.
“We have arranged an opportunity to have TMMs and the public attend a meeting to educate ourselves in preparation for Town Meeting. There will be experts on hand, including Steve Revilak, the citizen who initiated the petition leading to the new Article 16 and Pam Hallett, Arlington Housing Corporation, who can explain the terms of ‘affordability.’
“Also, attached find a copy of the Master Plan’s Chapter 5 Housing Report…. much pertinent information! Or go to the original complete Master Plan as approved by the Town Meeting in 2015.”
