Arlington resident Pasquale Tassone had his composition “Dzon for Marimba and Orchestra” performed by the Reading Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, Dec. 1.
“Dzon” (Homage) was written in 2009, in memory of the American composer Alan Hovhaness, who was a 1929 Arlington High School graduate.
The piece was also written for the outstanding marimba soloist, Sylvie Zakarian, a former Arlington resident who will be the guest artist for this performance. See her biography >>
Titled “The First Concert Experience,” the event took place from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the William E. Endslow Performing Arts Center at Reading Memorial High School.
