Are you tired of partisan politics and interested in good government? Do you ever wonder how town government works? Would you like to do something on the local or state level to make a difference?
Find out what the League of Women Voters of Arlington is doing to keep an eye on local and state offices and issues. The group is a nonpartisan organization of women and men who study and support issues, not political parties or candidates.
The meeting was held Sunday, Oct. 14, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., Robbins Library Community Room, 700 Mass. Ave.
Refreshments will be provided.
The group, active in local politics since 1949, was instrumental in passing the Town Manager Act and renovating the Robbins Library. Currently, it is studying tenant rights at local Housing Authority buildings, learning from local officials about town operations, running Candidates’ Nights, offering rides to the polls, registering voters and getting involved in lobbying our legislators to improve government so it works for everyone in the Commonwealth. We always welcome new volunteers and hope you will join us.
