UPDATED, April 2: A grand jury has indicted two Arlington residents in separate cases in Cambridge, the office of District Attorney Marian T. Ryan announced Monday, March 26. They are:
— Karl Maurice, 43, who was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, subsequent offense, trafficking over 36 grams of cocaine and being a habitual criminal.
— Robert Favreau, 18, who was charged with possession of a firearm, possession of a large-capacity firearm, possession of a large-capacity magazine, possession of a loaded firearm, resisting arrest, assault and battery, and failure to stop for police.
In the Maurice case, last Sept. 29, Cambridge Police executed two search warrants on Lambert Street — one for the defendant’s apartment and one was for him. Authorities allegedly found on the defendant about $1,283 in cash, 14 Clonazepam pills and 15 small bags of cocaine weighing about 99.6 grams. He was arraigned Feb. 21, and bail was set at $15,000 cash with a $150,000 surety. The next scheduled hearing is March 28.
Maurice was indicted in February 2017 on a charge of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and being a habitual criminal. Details were reported here >>

As to Favreau, Vlock provided information April 2: On Oct. 20, 2017, Cambridge Police observed the defendant on a motor scooter allegedly driving erratically.
After conducting a motor vehicle stop, the defendant allegedly fled police officers and punched a security guard who attempted to assist officers. Once placed under arrest, police said they located a loaded semiautomatic handgun with a large-capacity magazine in the defendant’s backpack.
He was arraigned on March 7 in Middlesex Superior Court. His next scheduled hearing is Tuesday, April 3.
He was released on personal recognizance with these conditions: wearing a GPS, with a curfew of 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.; no contact direct or indirect with victim; and possessing no weapons.

These indictments were handed down between Jan. 18 and March 6. These charges are allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
