Community outreach to begin in this spring
The town Department of Planning and Community Development has been awarded a $30,000 technical-assistance grant from the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission for work aimed to improve Arlington Heights.
This project builds on the town’s housing-production plan, adopted locally and approved by the state in 2016. The goal of the project is to complete several actions to institute master-plan aspects relevant to Arlington Heights. That includes encouraging such options as development of new housing and mixed use.
Exploring different options for spurring revitalization of this area to attain its potential for affordable and market-rate housing and commercial development, including examining potential barriers to development and recommending future zoning or regulatory amendments will be a key for of the Arlington Heights Planning Initiative.
Community participation to support the existing efforts of neighborhood groups and organizations will be emphasized and begin this spring.
