Perhaps you remember Zoe Norcross from her three years playing varsity soccer at Arlington High School. She was captain of the mighty team in her senior year, along with Emilie Pillemer and Olivia Baldwin.
She played varsity ice hockey all four years and was co-captain during her senior year. What else? Zoe was a star javelin and shot putter on the track-and-field team.
The 2008 grad was a serious competitor. Now she is performing in a more serious game — still with her characteristic joy — as Peace Corp volunteer in Ghana.
The daughter of Judi Berman and Rick Norcross as well as stepfather Ron Rosenbaum of Arlington has been in the West African nation since February, aiming to stay for two-plus years.
She is living in the northern part of the nation where dry heat, often above 100 degrees, cooks the spirit.
