April 21: Precinct 10 member Christian Klein has offered three proposed amendments. He believes the amendments to article 17 and article 18 can be made administratively. The amendment to article 11 will need to be voted. He plans to provide the appropriate number of signed copies Monday, April 24:
Article 11 Amendment:
VOTED: In Subsection B, after the words, “…shall, at a minimum, contain”, insert the words, “contact information for the general contractor, ” so the amended Subsection B will read:
“B. The notice required herein shall, at a minimum, contain contact information for the developer or contractor, a site plan for any applicable residential demolition, open foundation excavation, alteration or construction project, as well as information detailing the hours of operation for the project, anticipated completion date, work schedule, and health, safety, and abutting property protections, and as appropriate, noise abatement measures applied by the developer or contractor of the project.”
Article 17 Amendment:
VOTED: In subsection E(3), the words “4 millimeters” will be replaced by “4 mils” so the amended subsection E(3) will read:
“(3) Is at least 4 millimeters thick.”
COMMENTARY: Thicknesses of plastic film are measured in thousandths of an inch or “mils.” Four millimeters is just under 3/16″, which is far too thick for a bag.
Article 18 Amendment:
VOTED: In the second paragraph under section B, add the word “to” after the eighth word to read “The provisions of this subsection shall be construed to apply ….”
COMMENTARY: This is to correct a grammatical error in the report.
Article 8 – Amendment (April 19)
VOTED: that the recommended vote of the Arlington Redevelopment Board (ARB) under Article 8 be and herby is amended by:
Deleting all text beginning with the words: “AND AMENDING ARTICLE 8 SECTION 8.01 OFF-STREET PARKING REQUIREMENTS” and continuing through the end of the vote, thereby leaving Article 8 Section 8.01 of the Arlington Zoning Bylaw unchanged.
