Elaine Crowder, an Arlington taxpayer in Precinct 19, has submitted the following statement favoring a yes vote on Article 59 in the 2017 Town Meeting.
If the resolution is adopted, she writes, Arlington will join more than 300 cities and towns nationwide providing equality to all residents and immigrants, regardless of ethnic or religious background. With passage, she says, Town Meeting would be supporting the Arlington Police Department.
