A 30-year-old Arlington man has been indicted on a variety of charges, including rape, dating to 2014.
Brandon Fraser was charged with rape, strangulation causing serious bodily injury, strangulation, assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery (three counts), stalking, animal cruelty and threatening to commit a crime in connection to alleged ongoing physical abuse of a woman known to him from 2014 to 2016. The defendant is also alleged to have killed a dog in 2014.
Fraser was arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court on April 7, and Clerk Magistrate Lisa McGovern ordered the defendant held without bail pending a 58A dangerousness hearing on April 14. At the dangerousness hearing, Judge Kathe Tuttman deemed the defendant dangerous and ordered him held without bail.
The next scheduled hearing in this case is May 12. These charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The prosecutor assigned to this case is Assistant District Attorney Kate Kleimola.
The grand jury indictment was decided in March, the office of Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan announced April 25.
