An online news magazine reports that a research company it hired has ranked Arlington High School 10th in the state and 248th nationally.
The school moves up from its 2015 ranking of 315th nationally.
Newsweek published the results of an evaluation by Westat of 15,819 public high schools that met the criteria to be considered in the rankings, and 6,477 of the nation’s high schools were ranked.
In Massachusetts, 18 schools made the national list, based on data that aims to address the question: “Does this high school prepare students for college?” Factors include college enrollment rates, graduation rates and standardized testing scores.
