A group of goats met much success munching through invasive plants in June at the woods along Summer Street, so the town is having some of them back.
As part of a trial, Arlington will employ “goatscaping” at Menotomy Rocks Park from Wednesday, July 27, through Tuesday, Aug. 2.
Goats, a green way to to clear unwanted vegetation, will be contained by a 4-foot-high electric net fence powered by a solar battery to keep them safe and protect them from dogs and other animals.
If touched, the fence gives a brief unpleasant zap, but will not injure anyone including children or seniors.

The Goatscaping Company will provide the service, as it did in June for Arlington 360, owner of the woods along Summer.
