Introducing the flick will be Regent luminaries attired in period dress. Will Richard Stavros, a co-owner, wear a top hat? Will Mary Cirrone, who helps with publicity, don a war widow’s black veil? To search out 1916 duds in coming months, they’ll likely look over the back racks at Arlington’s Costume Company.

The persistence of the Regent to soldier on for a century occurs as change threatens theaters in Boston, including the Colonial and the Huntington.
With an estimated 35 Chamber of Commerce members seated at the Regent in October, Arlington folk musician Vance Gilbert praised the theater for remaining afloat — with its eclectic mix of family shows, singalong, rock tributes and humor — anything that can entertain.
Beats having a Gold’s Gym on the site, as was once contemplated, he said.
Gilbert himself remained true to his heterogeneous zone by singing what for him are standards, “Goodbye, Pluto” and “Unfamiliar Moon,” as well as jazz-riffing some Halloween talking-poetry.
