Jennifer has been active in local and state-level politics by being elected as a Town Meeting member and volunteering for many, many campaigns. She has shown initiative, organization, a sense of humor, and a strong understanding of the issues in every campaign. Jennifer’s parents were public school educators and she has gone to public schools all of her life – from elementary school to her graduate work to teaching at the university level. Her children attend Arlington Public Schools and she has been active in the schools through fundraising and as treasurer of the Thompson School PTO. Jennifer’s sharp intellect and commitment to listening and learning is easy to see through her quick grasp of the issues the schools face as she has met with various stakeholders.

Please join me in voting for Jennifer Susse for School Committee on April 5. I have worked with Jennifer in a variety of capacities, and I know she will be as dedicated and thoughtful serving on the School Committee as she was when working with me on the many projects we completed together. With her can-do attitude, her background and experience as an educator and parent, as well as her exceptional ability to motivate, organize and collaborate with others, Jennifer will be a significant asset to the School Committee.
Jennifer is always prepared to roll up her sleeves and do whatever it takes to accomplish the task at hand with careful planning and effective leadership. I watched her do this firsthand in her role as a founder of the Arlington Community Card, and as a community and school organizer – specifically as a dedicated parent advocate for rebuilding Thompson, a talented producer of local children’s plays, an extraordinary PTO leader, and a committed activist with local and statewide political campaigns.
Through her school and community involvement, Jennifer has formed relationships with a wide range of people throughout Arlington. Through her Town Meeting service and as a PTO and community leader, Jennifer recognizes the power of a well-formed budget and strategic thinking. Through her academic training and experience as an educator, Jennifer understands the challenges and rewards of education. Through meetings with school, town and community leaders and through research as well as her own experience as a parent, Jennifer has a solid understanding of the Arlington Public Schools.
I am grateful that Jennifer has decided to run for School Committee, and feel strongly that she is ready to serve. I urge you to join me in casting one of your three School Committee votes on April 5 for Jennifer Susse.

I am writing in support of the election of Jennifer Susse to the Arlington School Committee. I met Jennifer at the Thompson School almost six years ago when she first began volunteering with the PTO at the school.
Here is what impressed me: Jennifer immediately looked for ways she could put her skills to use. She was as comfortable rolling up her sleeves to run a bake sale as she was working on a team to develop big ideas like the Arlington Schools Community Card.
Jennifer listens to others’ points of view, but also stands up for what she believes even when it may cut against the grain. Time and again, Jennifer demonstrates her values — putting our children first — through her actions. She is smart, creative, and committed to our community. Jennifer brings an extraordinary set of skills and strengths to School Committee, drawing from her academic training, experience as an educator, and accomplishments as a volunteer in multiple capacities across town. From her roles with the Thompson and then the Hardy PTO’s, as a field captain in the last override campaign, as a board member of the Friends of Waldo Park, and as a Town Meeting member from my precinct, I know Jennifer as an exceptional problem-solver, a highly organized person, a tireless worker, and thoughtful colleague.
