For two consecutive years, the Salem law firm Pierce, Pierce & Napolitano has received a top-tier national ranking in the practice area of workers compensation from U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms.”
Arlington School Committee Chairman Judson Pierce is an associate in his father’s firm.
The rankings are based on a rigorous evaluation process that includes the collection of client and lawyer evaluations, peer review from leading attorneys in their field, and review of additional information provided by law firms as part of the formal submission process, a news release says.
The 2014 edition features more than 11,000 law firms ranked nationally in or more of 74 major legal practice areas and regionally in one or more of 120 major legal practice areas.
To be eligible for a ranking in a particular practice area and metro region, a law firm must have at least one lawyer who is included in Best Lawyers in that particular practice area.
The attorneys of Pierce, Pierce & Napolitano have been representing those injured in the workplace and their families for more than 30 years. The firm’s shareholders understand the unique emotional and financial needs of those injured in a workplace accident.
PP&N was founded by Alan S. Pierce, the former president of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys and former chairperson of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Section on Workers’ Compensation Law and member of the Workers’ Compensation Advisory Council under Governors William Weld and A. Paul Cellucci.
The other principals are Daniel P. Napolitano, a graduate of Merrimack College and New England School of Law. A former Assistant District Attorney for Suffolk County, and has over 11 years of experience litigating workers compensation cases as in-house counsel to major insurers and has been representing injured workers for over 10 years and Judson L. Pierce, a graduate of Vassar College and Suffolk University Law School.
Judson Pierce has served on the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys (MATA) Board of Governors as the chairperson of the New Lawyers division and currently serves as a co-chair to the MATA Workers’ Compensation Section. He has lectured on workers’ compensation law at numerous MCLE seminars and formerly served in the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office’s Fair Labor and Business Practices Division. He has been selected as a Super Lawyer/Rising Star since 2005.
Pierce was elected to the Arlington School Committee in 2010.
