Because of the confidence you placed in me, it is incumbent upon me now to continue working just as hard on your behalf. We have come a long way in three years, but we cannot rest on our laurels.
I am cognizant of the fact that while the School Committee has improved over the last few years, we still have lots of room for improvement and many issues that still demand our attention. That was one of the messages we got from this election — “we generally like the way things are going, keep up the good work, but our expectations and standards are justifiably high and we look forward to seeing you meet those challenges.”
In the next three years, I will work hard to live up to those high standards and to make those improvements — just as we demand high standards from our students.
I am tremendously grateful that my children get to attend such a great public school system, and I will continue to work to provide the best possible public education we can offer to all of our Arlington’s kids.
