On April 6th, voters will have the opportunity to continue this track record of success.
By returning Kirsi Allison-Ampe, Judson Pierce and Paul Schlichtman to the School Committee, we can vote to keep in place the excellent team that in just the past year has delivered: fee-free, universal full-day kindergarten; a new, flexible redistricting plan for the first time in over two decades; and successful negotiation of employee contracts.
Voters would be well-served to return Kevin Greeley to the Board of Selectmen for a record ninth term. Kevin embodies a deep respect and commitment to Arlington’s heritage and most valued traditions, while embracing positive progress towards the goal of building a true 21st-century community.
Kevin’s support for initiatives that will benefit Arlington has been most clearly demonstrated by his vigorous defence of the Mass. Ave. renewal project. He has been very clear in articulating the importance of voting NO on Question 1 and ensuring that safety and streetscape improvements to this vital artery are undertaken with state and federal funds, rather than by Arlington’s taxpayers.
Arlington is moving forward, and we must stay the course.
