Flags placed by the Rotary Club fly at the town water tower near Park Avenue in honor of Arlington heroes.

"Flags for Heroes" may be men and women who are serving or have served as members of the military, first responders, parents, teachers, coaches, mentors, community leaders or other heroes. A flag with the name of your heroes will be flown from through Nov. 11. A dedication ceremony is set for 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8.

You may sponsor as many heroes as you want, and you still can. To sponsor a flag, send the information below, along with a check for $30 per flag payable to the Rotary Club of Arlington, PO Box 23, Arlington, MA 02476.

  • The name (with title and rank, if appropriate) you want on the flag pole
  • Your name (please indicate if you want to be anonymous)
  • Your telephone number, and email address, in case we need to verify any of the information
