Frustrated by Arlington’s lack of overnight parking? Now you’ve a chance to express your views.
On Thursday, June 23, starting at 7 p.m., Select Board Chairman Len Diggins and board member Steve DeCourcey discussed the board’s plans for a pilot on overnight parking in town. Police Chief Julie Flaherty and officer Corey Rateau will present data regarding parking complaints and ticketing.
Town residents were encouraged to voice their ideas, opinions and concerns at this Zoom meeting.

“In discussions with Flaherty and Rateau,” Diggins said June 13, “it’s apparent there’s lots of elements to this, one of which is permit parking, because this pilot program is susceptible to abuse without a permit-parking pilot. It’s a big endeavor and we, as board, have to decide if this is something we want to do.
“We want to get input and a sense of how we’ll do it.”
DeCourcey said, “We’ll learn from what input we receive. I encourage people who are interested, or have concerns, to attend the program, because we’ll need to bring back something to the board.”
Board member John Hurd said: “There’s lots of interest in town to see if we can move in this direction.”
Member Eric Helmuth said, “I’m glad that thought is being given to potential permitting, and to determine the pros and cons.”
