Zero Waste Arlington plans to host a free Zoom webinar, “New Waste Bans; What You Need to Know," with live Q&A, on Wednesday, Nov. 30, from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Register here >>

Arlington's blue bins are an important tool to keep materials out of landfills and incinerators, but they don't solve the problem entirely; to meet town sustainability goals, new waste-management methods are needed. As of Nov. 1, trashing textiles or old mattresses was banned by the Commonwealth -- and the sale of single-use plastic water bottles smaller than one liter was banned earlier by the Town of Arlington.

To help make sense of the changes, the Zero Waste Arlington Committee plans to host office hours on Wednesday, Nov. 30, to answer questions.

Charlotte Milan, recycling coordinator for the Town of Arlington, and Jim Ballin, ZWA committee member, will share details about the bans. Scott Mullen, another ZWA committee member, will moderate the session with live Q&A.

Residents may view previous webinars on the organization's website.
