Arlington Philharmonic Sponsors' Family Concert held
The Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra plans to present its Sponsors' Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 1, with the Arlington-Belmont Chorale and the Arlington-Belmont Chamber Chorus.
Conducting these groups at First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church are music directors Orlando Cela and Barry Singer.
The program will include:
Symphonic Poem No. 2 by Galina Ustvolskaya
Nights in the Gardens of Spain by Manuel de Falla, featuring pianist Carmen Rodríguez-Peralta
The Road Not Taken by Randall Thompson
Love Unchangèd (World Premiere) by Tamsin Jones
Hold Me, Rock Me by Brian Tate
Coronation Mass, No. 15 in C, K. 317 by W.A. Mozart
A special tribute to Ukraine will be offered with the performance of Gebet fur die Ukraine/Prayer for the Ukraine by Valentin Silvestrov.
Performers and audience members of all ages must show proof of vaccination against Covid-19 at the door in order to attend this Concert. Masks must be worn indoors at all times by everyone.
Tickets are purchased at the door. General admission is $20; seniors/students $15, and children 17 years and under $5.
This venue is wheelchair accessible.
This concert will also be live-streamed. The link will be posted at 3 p.m. on the day of the event at www.psarlington.org.
