Town Day, Arlington’s annual gathering that draws thousands to the Center, was held on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 200 booths will line Mass. Avenue from Jason at Mill streets to Pleasant at Mystic streets.
There were a variety of vendor booths from local nonprofits to town departments to schools to student groups to businesses of all types and sizes for this 49th annual event. Festivities include food, live music, the annual book sale at the Robbins Library, and kids’ activities at numerous stations.
The day-long event ended with a fireworks display over Spy Pond at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The town issued a press release stating “from public safety demos, touch-a-truck, and the annual book sale, to staff and volunteers working on housing, transportation, conservation, and energy issues, there’s someone to answer your questions about a variety of projects going on in Town. Stop by and say hello.” View a list of town related booths at Town Day.

Make Town Day Sustainable
Zero Waste Arlington and the Town Day Committee are partnering again to reduce waste at Town Day. You can leave a smaller footprint at Town Day by practicing B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Bottle) and fill up for free at the water truck on Court Street; if you forget yours, you can even grab a free, pre-cleaned reusable bottle on-site. Once you’re hydrated, take those eco-habits home by visiting the Zero Waste booth to learn all about composting and how to recycle tricky household items like textiles and mattresses.
