To the Editor: Arlington needs to move forward with the update/remodel of the veterans memorial. This project has been in the works and planning stage for over seven years. The list of Arlington’s sons and daughters that served in the military is incomplete, and the personnel omissions are in the hundreds. The memorial does not reflect the sacrifices and contributions made by Arlington military patriots. We need to do better than kicking the can down the road, with regard to the rebuild and remodel of this important piece of Arlington history.
The surrounding cities and towns all have up-to-date, accurate listings of the men and women who lived in their communities and served their country. Arlington has the resources to get the job done, and those of us who live here deserve to see this restoration completed now. The existing display in Arlington Center is an embarrassment. Thank you for your service, whoever you are.
