UPDATED June 17: After winning the state division championships last month, the Arlington High School boys’ frisbee team, PUMAHS, has won the High School National Invitational championship, which took place June 13 and 14.
This year’s national invite games took place in Allentown, Pa., on a muddy, rain-drenched field. The final game for Arlington started at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14, against a team from Edina, Minn.
Leading the team were coaches John Rice and Simon Stone. Player Malcolm Cooper was highlighted on the invitational’s website under standout players, for “consistently pinning opponents in their own end zone and taking advantage of his length on defense to get big blocks.”

According to its website, this frisbee team organized itself in 2015, when students recently graduated from Ottoson Middle School brought the frisbee program with them to the Arlington High School.
