UPDATED Oct. 31: The town invited residents to its Diwali celebration, Thursday, Nov. 7, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Arlington Community Center (27 Maple St).
Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights, symbolizing the spiritual idea of “light over darkness.” This free event includes colorful decorations, music, food and family-friendly activities.
This event is sponsored by the Arlington Council on Aging and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Division (DEI).
Those who wished to attend were required to RSVP online. However, according to Teresa Marzilli, DEI Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator, the event is at capacity and 25 residents currently are on a waitlist.
