Early voting for presidential election concludes

October 1, 2024

UPDATED Nov. 4: Early voting began Saturday, Oct. 19, and concluded Friday, Nov. 1, but you can still return a ballot to a drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, to be counted.

Ballots mailed inside the U.S. must be postmarked on or before Nov. 5 and received by Nov. 8.

Ballots mailed from outside the U.S. must be postmarked on or before Nov. 5 and received by Nov. 15.

There are several options for returning your ballot. You may return your ballot by:

• Mailing it back using the envelope provided;
• Hand-delivering your ballot to your local election office;
• Dropping your ballot off at an early voting location during early voting hours;
• Using a ballot drop box:
730 Mass Ave – in front of Town Hall
85 Park Ave – ACMi Studio
175 Mass Ave – Fox Library

Ballots cannot be dropped off at a polling place on Election Day.

Specimen ballots have been posted in the “What’s on the Ballot?” section of the town’s election’s webpageVoter Information Guides (with a red cover) have been mailed to homes to help voters understand the ballot questions. See also this helpful link >>

Note that ballot question No. 6, an advisory about health care, applies only to Arlington precincts represented by Rep. Dave Rogers (2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12).

The last day to register for a mail-in ballot was Saturday, Oct. 26. You can register and vote during early voting hours that day.

Voters who will be out of town during early voting may contact the town clerk’s office to schedule a time to vote absentee.

The state has mailed the red Voter Information Guide to households with voters to provide information on the five ballot questions.
