The Arlington Housing Authority and the Arlington Police Department jointly sponsored National Night Out locally from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6.
The event, at Thompson School Park, near Union and Everett streets in East Arlington, featured activities including a picnic-style cookout, games, a bounce house, Touch a Truck, a DJ and more.
The event was free, and everyone was welcome.
According to its website, National Night Out occurs annually and is part of a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships throughout the United States.
