The Friends of Robbins Farm Park put on its Independence Day celebration starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 4.
Attendees were encouraged to bring blankets and picnic dinners to the park, 51 Eastern Ave.
Food and drink could be purchased at the celebration including traditional favorites apple pie and pizza.
Last year’s celebration was canceled at the last minute because of inclement weather.
This year the same band intended for last year, the Reminisants, was there to entertain; on its website, the group describes itself as an oldies-rock band in existence for more than 50 years. The group is also on Facebook.
After the band performs, attendees could watch the annual Boston Pops Esplanade performance and fireworks show broadcast live on a giant screen.
This is a free event suitable for all ages. More information can be learned here >>
According to its website, The Friends of Robbins Farm Park is a community organization formed to promote the beautification, restoration and improvement of Robbins Farm Park, in the town’s Arlington Heights neighborhood.
