UPDATED Feb. 11: The Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) is introducing changes that aim to improve equity by expanding their products for reduced-fare riders and simplifying tariff rules.
To share more information about these fare changes and hear feedback from riders, the MBTA held a second of two public hearings on
Thursday, Feb. 17, 6 p.m. >>
Proposed fare changed include:
- Permanent five-day FlexPasses on commuter rail;
- Lower pricing for one-day LinkPasses;
- A new seven-day LinkPass for reduced-fare riders;
- Expanding reduced-fare monthly passes to all modes; and
- Second transfers on bus and subway and transfers between Express Buses.
If approved, these changes take effect by July 1.
