The following letter of appreciation, dated Jan. 4, was sent from the Tenants Associations for Drake Village, Winslow Towers, Cusack Terrace, Chestnut Manor to Nick Mitropoulos, chair, Arlington Housing Authority (AHA) Board of Directors.
On behalf of all residents we would like to thank the Arlington Housing Authority Board of Directors for voting unanimously Dec. 16 to provide each resident with a truly delicious holiday meal on Dec. 24.
Hundreds of individually packaged meals from D’Agostino’s were delivered safely to residents’ doors.
Because so many were involved in making this happen, it’s not possible to mention everyone here. However, we would like to extend a special thank you to the following:
- Commissioner Brian Connor, for conceiving of this enormously generous and thoughtful gift, in collaboration with Executive Director John Griffin and his operations manager, Jennifer McNabb;
- Roland Demers, for coordinating with his staff the delivery of meals to each building; and
- Resident volunteers, for safely distributing the meals at each building
You made certain that folks who were alone, and who might otherwise not have a holiday meal, knew they were not forgotten. That is a beautiful thing.
Additionally, and incredibly, the board, executive director, operations manager, and all of the AHA staff have kept us safe during this frightening pandemic.
In keeping with your protecting us to the extent you can, the board, at the suggestion of Brian Connor, voted unanimously to make all laundry facilities free until June 2021 so that residents won’t need to venture out to acquire quarters. Just one more way you’re working to keep us safe.
We residents are incredibly fortunate to have a responsive and caring board of directors, executive director and operations manager so expertly caring for us. You all go above and beyond and we are enormously grateful. Thank you!
