The following letter was written by Kurt Fusaris, a former Arlington resident:
I am writing to voice my support for Sean Garballey’s reelection as state representative. I have known Sean for many years and, even though he was never actually my state representative (even when I lived in town), he has always been accessible to everyone in Arlington.
His work on Beacon Hill has made a profound difference not only for Arlington and West Medford, but for the entire Commonwealth, including Framingham, which I now call home.
Whether it was his early work on behalf of students in Arlington’s schools on the School Committee or his decade of extremely dedicated public service to the community as a state representative, Sean has been a leader who has filed lots of progressive legislation that has helped children, seniors, people with disabilities and others who need a little bit of help.
People who know me know that I am a strong believer in rigorous debate, and I feel that it is important to hold our political leaders to account. I welcome that Sean has a challenger in this race.
It’s good for him to answer questions and to have to make the case again to his constituents. Given Sean’s impeccable track record on behalf of the people of Arlington, I do not see a compelling reason at this time to change course. Arlington is a better place because of Sean’s service.
Please make sure to vote on Sept. 4, and I would humbly ask you vote to return Sean for another term as your representative.
