Bob SpragueYourArlington.com is an experiment in community journalism dedicated to reporting news about Arlington, Mass., and the Arlington-related views of its residents. The experiment not unique but is part of a nationwide movement called "citizen journalism." This kind of journalism encourages members of a community to write about that community. The writing may be reporting, or it may be opinion. Bob Sprague, an Arlington resident since 1989, acts as a liberal guardian about what is posted on the site. He encourages factual reporting, honest opinion and overall fair play. He urges town residents to register and tell the public what they know. When you sign up, provide your first and last name as well as your Arlington address. On this site, the public has a right to know the sources of information. Anonymous sources may be used in some cases, but when you post to this site, public should know your full name. Nathan Bosdet, candidate for the Board of SelectmenBob Sprague 2010.03.06 03:03 ↑ 0 ↓

It is posted here with the author's permission. by Nathan Bosdet The primary reason I'm running for selectman is to really work to bring the voice of Arlington into the Board of Selectmen. Not just to provide a monologue out from the selectmen to the community, but to create a stronger dialogue and transparency between the selectmen and the community. My personal background is in economics, in which I hold both bachelor's and master's degrees. I feel this gives me a no-nonsense approach to budgetary issues that we face and that we are sure to work with over the next three years. Currently, I work as an economic analyst for a Cambridge consulting firm that works with many large multinational corporations, NGOs [nongovernmental organizations] foreign and domestic government agencies. |
