Scott Mullen, general manager of the Hubway bike-sharing system, will join the Arlington Bicycle Advisory Committee (ABAC) for its annual indoor winter social on Thursday, March 14, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Arlington Center for the Arts in East Arlington.
Anyone interested in local bicycling issues is welcome to join us, and light refreshments will be served.
Mullen, an East Arlington resident, manages metro Boston's newest transit network. With more than 100 station and 1,100 bicycles, Hubway reaches the communities of Boston, Brookline, Cambridge and Somerville and brings all the benefits of cycling to the area.
In 13 full months of operation, Hubway riders have logged nearly 700,000 rides. Currently a seasonal system, Hubway operates from March through November.
Hear Mullen discuss how bike sharing is changing the face of greater Boston and cities around the world.
The winter social is set for the ACA's theater, 41 Foster St.
The best way to enter the theater is from the facility's parking lot, between Tuft and Foster streets. From the parking lot, look for theater signs to the ramp entrance.
The facility's bike-parking rack is near the Foster Street entrance. Coming from Mass. Ave. by car or bike, the best way to access ACA is via Tufts Street.
