Two sisters, one mission: Nurture Arlington’s healing community |
Danielle and Renee Gaudette.
Sisters Danielle and Renee Gaudette never thought they would enter a similar line of work, let alone manage healing businesses in the same neighborhood.
Four years apart and each with a different set of interests, it seemed that they were destined to go down different paths.
Yet somehow, their roads still converged. Today, Danielle manages the Arlington Dahn Yoga Center, and Renee oversees Water House Wellness, just down the street.
Originally from Watertown, the sisters have become a vital part of Arlington’s healing community. "Both Danielle and I grew up in an extremely loving and supportive environment," says Renee. "I do not think it is very far reaching to assume we’d both become involved in providing services to others."

Review panel sees latest Mass. Ave. plans |
|

Adam Auster has posted on his blog his notes about the Wednesday, Aug. 4, meeting of the Mass. Ave. Review Committee. See them here >>
He writes that this version of the plan to reshape Mass. Ave. from Pond Lane to Cambridge would have narrower travel lanes for cars, wider sidewalks in the business district, and a 3-foot buffer between bicycles and cars on the westbound side of the street.

Selectmen OK revised Stratton traffic pattern |
|
The selectmen on Monday, Aug. 9, unanimously approved a new traffic pattern for the Stratton School neighborhood, one that was revised after abutters expressed concerns. The plan should be in effect when schools reopen, Sept. 8.
After concerns expressed July 26, the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) switched gears. It had recommended that Pheasant Avenue be one-way westbound, but the current plan has returned the direction to the way it is now -- one way eastbound.

New ('No. 7') van rolls up to CoA |
|

The Council on Aging recently took delivery of its new handicapped-accessible Ford van. It replaces "ol’ number three," the 1996 Dodge, which has given great service over the years but was ready for retirement.
The Ford (the new "number 7") is modern, more spacious and more comfortable and is built to provide years of safe and reliable service to CoA riders.
The major part of the funding for this vehicle came from an 80 percent state grant through the Executive Office of Transportation And Public Works.
